Summer Lovin'

We have been having a busy, fun August and that is just how we like it.  I am trying to hang onto summer for as long as I can and I feel like it is slipping through my fingers.  As the summer comes to a close I always find myself feeling like I didn't take advantage of it and all the activities/fun that goes along with summer, so we have been trying to cram in as much as we can with the time we still have left.  I am slightly devastated that Cherry Hill is now closed down during the week, I don't know what Addie and I will do to fill our time now!  I have loved spending our summer days at Cherry Hill and I love that Addie loves the water.  We have had friends and family going with us the past couple of weeks and let's be honest it is always more fun to go to Cherry when there is someone else to sit and chat with!  We went for my mom's birthday and had so much fun.

Other things we have been up to lately:
Going to the fair-Addie absolutely loved all the animals and people watching.  She was also completely enthralled in watching the rides.
This pic cracks me up, and if Addie looks hot it's because she was, we were all dying of heat, but I think it it normal to feel a little filthy at the fair!
Watching dogs do tricks into the pool.  Addie kept saying "woof woof" to them
Enjoying her first blow pop, she was a sticky mess, but she sure was happy!

Getting cuffed for the first time!  Before you call CPS on me just know that these cuffs were a gag gift from YW's and I just put them on her long enough to get a picture.  She liked it at first but then realized she was stuck and wasn't having it!
Spending lots of time with Grandma and other family
Enjoying mighty mini's popsicles.  If you haven't heard of these popsicles, they are more stick than popsicles so Addie's little hands have room to hold onto without getting cold, small portions (although she seems to think she needs two or three each time) and they are slow melting which means little to no mess.  Seriously love these things for Adds.
Took Addie to her first Bees Game- we had seats but ended up on the grass for most of the game cuz Addie would not sit still

She was a little beggar the whole time and wanted Crystal's snow cone so bad
 Crawling away with my necklace
Addie tried, and loved, sour patch kids.

Shoving her fist in to get handful (contrary to all the pictures, I sweat my child's diet consists of more than candy and snow cones!)
Update on our family:
Nephi-he is absolutely loving his new job which is such a relief from his last job.  He has crappy hours and seems to be working lots of overtime but at least he is happy.
Emily-I am trying to keep up with with Addie and adjusting to Phi's new schedule.  He use to be home by 5:45 every night and now we are lucky if he is home by 7 and he works til 9 two nights a week too...blah!  Not to mention he is able to work unlimited overtime and has taken that to mean he needs to work as much overtime as possible.  I am learning how to be a single parent!  Jk, I know he is just working hard to get our family into a home soon and I am so grateful for all he does.
Addie-she is so much fun lately!  She is learning new things everyday and I love it!  She now signs baby, more, milk, monkey, eat, and I can't remember the others.  She knows where her head, ears, belly, and occasionally nose are at.  She has been saying more words lately and currently says dada, banana, baby, ball, flower, what a dog, kitty, and monkey says, bubbles, and trees!  She cracks me up every single day and never ceases to amaze me.    All in all things are going well with our family and even though it is always hard to see summer come to an end, I can't help but get excited for fall!  After all, I did already get Addie's Halloween costume!

California Getaway

Last week Addie and I had the chance to go to southern California with my dad...again!  I can't believe we have now gone twice in the past 4 months and both times without Nephi (not cool).  My dad was heading out there for work again and me and Crystal decided to tag along.  It actually worked out really well since Phi was gone that week in Virginia training for his new job.  We stayed with the Charleson's again and had a blast hanging out with them and taking in the California sunshine!
The first morning there we hit up the Temecula farmer's market where Crystal held a bunch of parrots and macaws, got the best strawberries I have ever had, tried for the first time and loved Italian ice, and tried hummus for the first time.  It was in the mall parking lot so we just had to go inside and do some shopping afterwards!
Yes Crystal is kissing the bird!

Addie also loved the Italian ice

Addie became a fan of strawberries on this trip
We spent the rest of the time swimming in the pool, going to the beach, more shopping, and playing just dance 2 (it was my first time playing and i am seriously addicted...so much fun and such a great work out!)
Totally getting Addie this chair...can't wait for Home Goods to open here

She didn't love the cold water but she sure loved throwing fistfuls of sand EVERYWHERE

 See what I mean!

 My little water baby

Addie loved Ryan and he was so great at keeping her entertained
Thanks to these wonderful people for letting us come to our home away from home, hopefully we can come again soon!

{twelve}

Well I made it to my final monthly post of Addie's first year of life.  I don't know how this last year has already come and gone.  There really are no words that could ever adequately describe this past year and the love I have for this little girl!  All I know is I can't imagine life without her.  She has taught me a kind of love I didn't know existed and has taught me so much this past year.  I somehow love every stage more than the last.  I am loving the stage she is in right now.  She is so full of personality it is slightly terrifying to think about her moving into toddler years.  For example, we were shopping at Target the other day and I grabbed some celery and put it by her in the cart and she grabbed it and held it until we got to the register and I had to take it from her to pay for it.  She freaked out and started screaming...over celery seriously...and she had to hold it the whole way home in the car!  I think I can still pull off calling her my baby since she still has the baby look (hardly any hair, still no teeth (should I be worried), and little baby feet).  We have been having so much fun this month with playdates, cherry hill, and spending time with family.
Her 12 month stats:
Length 28.07 inches 27%
Height 19lbs 4.5oz 27%
Head 45.3cm 64%
She might be a little shrimp, but she's perfectly proportionate!
On Addie's actual birthday she had yummy pancakes for breakfast and we played with her new toys before church.  After church we had dinner over at my parents and Addie got to have a cupcake (seriously after cake the day before and then a cupcake she is done with sugar for a while) and celebrate some more!

 She seriously loves books

 Playing in her new tent

 Yummy cupcake

Pushing around her new baby and stroller
 Birthday shirt from grandma

Since her birthday was on a Sunday we decided to celebrate some more at Cherry Hill with Crystal on Monday!  We love going to Cherry.

 Still loves watching signing time
First time trying spaghetti, if you can't tell she loved it!

Here are some things about Addie at 12 months:
-she is finally eating more food and willing to try things
-has become such a fast crawler
-loves to pull herself to a standing position
-walks with her walker
-says "banana" but thinks it means all food and says it whenever she sees food
-loves drinking milk but has to have it warm and in a bottle
-is a little begger for food to everyone
-is super ticklish in her armpits
-loves to give hi-5's, wave bye-bye, and shake her head
-loves to blow on her food when she sees me blowing on it
-gives kisses
-she is such a snuggler lately and always wants to lay her head down on me for just a few seconds at time
-LOVES other kids and always want to follow them around and be included

Happy Birthday baby girl we love you!
