Halfway There and a Home for Christmas!

Today I am 20 weeks and half way done with this pregnancy.  I must say this pregnancy is going much faster than the first, probably due chasing around a toddler all day!  It is funny how with the second, I find myself much more grateful for the nine month waiting period and need all the time I can get to prepare for this little guy to join our family!  I am getting more and more excited about having a little boy everyday and am trying to make the tough transition from baby girl things to looking for a baby boy.
I have the worst blogger ever and have so much to update on.  First and foremost, we are getting a house for Christmas...literally.  We are closing on our first home on the 21st and yes I do think that buying a house four days before Christmas is the worst possible timing EVER!  So much money in an already expensive month.  Oh well, we are thrilled to be in a home of our very own and living on our own again.  It really is all I need this Christmas!  I am lame and don't have any pictures of the house, I keep finding myself trying to remember little details about it that I didn't take in when I was last inside.  I will post pics once we are all settled in, which quite honestly could be a while.
Addie is at the most fun/frustrating stage yet!  I really have a love hate relationship with the age she is at right now.  She is hilarious, sweet, funny, curious, silly, and then others time she just makes me want to scream.  She is getting to be such a stinker and she knows just what to do to push my buttons, but oh I love that little girl!  We have been trying to do some Christmas festivities this month despite all the craziness of buying a home.  We went to the Kaysville light parade, all five floats of it!  We also went on a hayride through the Layton Park Lights and Addie absolutely loved it!  Of course my camera died right when we started the hayride!  Addie met Santa and Mrs. Clause and did surprisingly well.  She didn't cry, but was very serious and concerned the whole time!  Addie also went out in the snow for the first time yesterday.  Crystal was shoveling snow and Addie wanted to go out, so we went out for just a few minutes and she loved it until she realized that touching snow makes her hands cold and hurt.  I guess it is time to get some snow gloves for her.

Hope everyone is enjoying their holiday season!

It's a....

Baby BOY!
We had quite the adventure trying to make it to our doctor's appointment this morning.  Of course the morning I am suppose to find out what this baby is, there is the biggest wind storm ever!  After getting diverted off main street and dodging trees in the road left and right, I called to see if I could reschedule for later in the week and they wouldn't have been able to get me in for a week.  I wasn't going to wait a week so we pushed on and made it to the appointment.  The power was out in the clinic, except for a couple of lights and one ultrasound machine on a generator.  Let's just say, urine sample in the dark...not something I hope to ever do again!  But it was all worth it when we got to see out little one and know now he is a boy!  I was a little shocked.  I thought for sure it would be a girl and I was getting excited at the thought of giving Addie's wardrobe another go around, but we are super excited to have one of each.  I am definitely banking on this baby having the opposite temperament as Addie.  Boys are easier...right?!

Family Pics 2011

For the first time we decided to get family pictures done.  Man there is a lot of stress involved when you are spending good money for pictures that you hope your 15 month old will cooperate for.  Addie did so great for all the shots of just her but the family shots were a little more difficult.  But all in all I love how the pictures turned out, even if there isn't a family shot where everyone is looking at the camera and smiling!

I absolutely love this candid one

Such a ham for the camera.  This is like the perfect pose.  These pictures just make me happy!

Halloween 2011

Halloween was such a blast this year.  Holidays are just so much more fun with kids to celebrate with, it is like you to get to experience everything through the eyes of a child again!  We started out our fun on the Friday before with trick-or-treating at my mom's work.  Addie was the cutest little kitty ever and surprisingly knew exactly what to do to get the most candy.

She kept trying to sit down and take a candy break, but we powered on.  She was cracking  us up because once she was comfortable taking candy from people, she would try to go for like multiple handfuls!
Getting candy from Grandma!
Addie insisted on carrying her bucket, no matter what!  It got so heavy she had to drag it behind her.
On Saturday, we went to a Halloween party that our friends Paul and Stephanie threw.  It was so much fun to get together with our Logan friends that we don't get to see enough!  We went to the Syracuse Pumpkin Walk, which was a lot of fun, but nothing compared to North Logan's!

 The whole gang!
We did some stroller swapping while we were there and this picture just cracks me up cuz Addie was sitting in a stroller with an infant car seat in it.  Just a little too small for her!
On Halloween night we took Addie trick 'or ' treating to some of the neighbors and we had a blast!
If you are wondering why Addie's eyebrows look red, it is because they were stained with spaghetti sauce from dinner!
And of course it was extra special to be able to wear my little skeleton baby shirt to announce our little one.  We find out in 3 weeks what we are having.  I can't wait!

Quick Recap

I am going to do a Reader's Digest version of the last two months starting with my birthday!
It was an especially good birthday because I had just barely found out I was pregnant and because Nephi was actually in town and took the whole day off to celebrate!
We had a family party the Sunday before where I had the sweetest candle ever that Crystal brought back from China complete with music and...
it blooms into a sweet flower with fire.  Seriously though it made my whole day!
Beautiful flowers from my mom...she always knows how to pick em!
On my actual birthday we went to Kneaders for breakfast (divine), shopping, saw The Help, and had dinner at Tucano's.
In September we went to the state fair and crazy enough it was my first time ever going.  We had a blast.  Addie loved all the animals, Nephi got his had-to-have turkey leg, and I ate way too much fair food.

September was a big month for Addie.  I miss doing the monthly updates on her but 14 months was a big month for her because she started walking and she FINALLY got her first two teeth.  Has she gotten any since...no, but hey at least we have the two!  She got walking down super fast and hasn't stopped since.  She is starting to try her hand at running.  She also got to experience croup for the first time, not cool and she had a big adjustment moving into my parents house.  We moved in to save for a house and I am excited to say that we have found a house and are just waiting on the appraisal and hopefully everything will work out...fingers crossed!  We cannot wait to be in a home of our own.
We have been thoroughly enjoying the nice fall weather and I am dreading the colder temps and what to do with a toddler all winter.

 Playing in the leaves

She is so dang cute I can't even handle it!
We went on a hayride to pick pumpking and my camera died after this first shot...typical!
We took Addie to her first football game Davis vs. Northridge and unfortunately Davis lost but Nephi left pretty happy about it!
Addie was content the whole game as long as she had food to eat.  This girl takes her snacks seriously.  Okay I guess I am now caught up and my next post will be about our fun Halloween festivities!
