3 Months of Fun

Well Logan is three months now (plus a week since I am behind on posting).  I have really enjoyed month three and Logan is so dang cute and fun.  His personality is starting to come out and he is so interactive.  Well I survived having two kids under two and I am not sure I ever want to do that again!  But things are getting much easier now and we are in a pretty good routine.  I have finally comes to terms that Logan is not the same baby as Addie.  For the longest time I tried to force him to follow babywise and follow the same schedule I had Addie on that her sleeping through the night at 7 weeks, but it just doesn't work for Logan.  Now that I am not stressing about him having such a strict nap schedule and freaking out if he wakes up early (because he always does) things are much better for both of us.  Here are some fact about Logan at 3 months:
-he is a major cat napper and has a hard time sleeping for longer than half hour for most of his naps.
-went from hating his swing to loving it and only wanting to nap in there.  If he is in his swing he will nap for two hours, anywhere else it is just a cat nap.
-He doesn't like to be swaddled for naps anymore, just nighttime.  And even then I still find him like this some mornings.  Cracks me up.
-He is a very light sleeper and wakes up to everything.  Which can be hard when he has a very loud sister running around.  He will occasionally fall asleep in the car but wakes the second we stop, drives me a little bit nuts.  He has been waking up multiple times during the night, not to eat, but just to get his binky and get resettled.  Luckily in the fast few days he has been doing better and usually sleeps from 10-6 or so and then goes back to sleep til 8:30.
-He loves to have something in his mouth, at all times.  Whether it is his binky, fist, or a blanket there is always something he is sucking on.
-He is starting to hold his head up during tummy time.
-Absolutely loves his bathes and kicks like crazy the whole time
-Loves sitting up and enjoys sitting in his bumbo.  Everything we prop him up on the couch or put him in his bumbo he gets so smiley and happy.

-Prefers laying down and being talked to over being held.  Seriously this little boy isn't a fan of cuddling or even being held much for that matter.  He is the total opposite of Addie as a baby.  It is nice that I can just lay him down and he can entertain himself, but it makes me kind of sad that he doesn't like to snuggle.
-He loves to snuggle his blankies right up to his face when he sleeps.  Seriously Aden and Anais blankets have changed my life.  Don't know how I didn't know about them with Addie but Logan loves his and they are so lightweight and soft
-He has become quite the little chatterbox and loves to coo and tell us stories
Seriously this boy a big ball of gooey goodness and I could just eat him up.  He really is an angel baby and is always so happy and smiley.  I mean look at this last pic, how could you resist that smile!

Addie turned 2

Well somehow Addie went and grew up on me.  It is crazy to me that she is already two.  These past two years have been the greatest of my life and we are so lucky to have our little girl in our family.  I took her for her well check last week and she was weighed and measured with standing on the adult scale and against the wall for height.  It was so weird to me that she is old enough to do it the big kid way!  She was a champ and had to get one shot and didn't even cry or flinch, she just asked for a sucker as soon as it was over, this girl sure does love her sweets!  She is still on the small side 25 lbs 33 in.  About 30% for both so she is proportionate at least!  We didn't have a big party this year, instead Nephi took the day off and we just played all day.  I wanted to surprise her with a bunch of balloons in her room.  We started blowing up balloons at 10:30 at night and realized they were the little water balloon size, which if you didn't know they are insanely hard to blow up, I about passed out just trying to blow one up.  So we didn't get as many as I had hoped.  When Addie woke up she loved it and was yelling "balls, balls" she had no idea they were balloons since they were so small ha ha!
After playing with her streamers and balloons, she opened some of her presents from us. Playing with her new kitchen and play food
I found a set with a princess crown, earrings, necklace and ring on clearance for $3 and I am pretty sure it was her favorite present.  She wore them for like three days straight.
She is such a little ham for the camera and loves to pull silly poses!
Nephi's mom came over and we went to lunch at good old Micky D's.  Addie loves her chicken and ranch.  After refusing to take a nap due to birthday excitement overload, we headed to Cherry Hill for the evening.
Addie absolutely loved it.  I was worried cuz she has been a little nervous of water this summer but she had so much fun and kept begging to go back in whenever we got out.  I hope we can get passes again next summer.  Logan was so good the whole time and just slept on the ground most of the time.  We headed back to my mom's house for some more presents and cake and ice cream.
This was her third birthday cake in three days, two just that day.  She became a pro at blowing out her candles.  She was spoiled rotten and got so many fun new toys.  She loves her sit n spin and always makes sure that her toys get their turn on it too!
At 2 years old Addie
-Is still a horrible eater.  She won't touch any vegetables(unless they are being used as a spoon for ranch), meat (unless you count hot dogs and pepperoni), and tons of other food.  It has probably been the most frustrating thing for me, trying to get her to eat things.  I am starting to play hard ball with her and not just making what I know she will eat.
-Is an amazing sleeper.  She goes to bed around 8:30 and sleeps until 8:30 or sometimes later.  She has been boycotting naps lately, but normally she takes a good two hour afternoon nap too.
-Is obsessed with all things princess (especially Tangled) and Dora
-Is an amazing talker and can pretty communicate anything and everything.  She speaks in three word phrases now and even some four word phrases.
-Loves stuffed animals and sleeps with about ten each night.
-Is very independent and wants to do everything herself
-Loves her baby brother and always wants to hold him, make sure he has his binky, and makes sure he has toys to play with.
-Still insanely shy.  It is exhausting how shy she is around people she doesn't know and sometimes even those she does.  She is getting a lot better but she still struggles playing with other kids.  Luckily she loves nursery.
-Loves to accessorize and do things just like me
-Calls us mama and dada
-Is still my little cuddle bug and will always give hugs and kisses
I could go on and on about this little girl.  She is so full of imagination these days and is always cracking us up with the things she does and says.

She loves hot salsa, she kept going back for more and I was having a hard time eating it!

She loves being a goof ball in the tub
 Sneaking a sip
She has pretty much had a dirty face all summer long, but I guess that is how it should be.  Having Addie get older is so much fun but she has definitely hit the terrible two stage and I am scared for what lies ahead!  Everything with her is a fight lately: taking a bath, taking a nap, going to bed, putting her shoes on, getting in the car, staying in her stroller, etc. etc. etc.  She is one feisty little spitfire and so full of personality and attitude.  I pray for patience everyday with this little one, but we love this little girl so stinkin much and look forward to seeing her grow and develop this coming year.

Logan's Special Day

We blessed Logan on June 24th.  It was a perfect day with friends and family.  Logan was an angel baby and slept through his whole blessing and most of the festivities after.  Nephi gave him a beautiful blessing and I loved feeling the spirit and the sweet spirit this little boy brings into our family.  Thanks to all who came to support us.  It was so fun to have my big sis and her kiddos come who were in town from California.  Logan wore Nephi's blessing dress which was really cool.  It was really dainty looking and a little girly but we are calling it vintage!

Finally a girl cousin to play with
 Riley and Grandma

 My nephews are studs

 Cousins just four months apart

We are so grateful for this little boy!

2 Months

Logan turned two months on June 21st.  I am a little behind in posting about his second month of life.  Things have gotten much easier this month and we seem to be getting into a little bit of a schedule.  I was so overwhelmed with two kids for a while, but I finally feel like I have a handle on my life again.  Don' get me wrong, two kids is still pretty tough some days, but we are managing!  Logan had his checkup and did great with his shots.  He has reflux, which I knew and is on medicine for it and the medicine isn't doing squat.  We are starting another one and it will help with all his pain during and right after he eats, poor guy.  Here are his stats at 2 months:
Weight: 11.6 lbs
Height: 22 in
Head: 15.6 in
At 2 months Logan:
-still loves to be swaddled
-finally started liking his swing and loves to take naps in it
-having a hard time taking naps outside of his swing
-eats five times a day, every 3-4 hours, and once at night
-isn't a very sound sleeper and wakes up multiple times during the night just because and wakes up to every little sound and the second the car slows or stops
-started smiling at about six weeks and will smile if you just look at him
-started cooing and loves to chat
-discovered his hands and thinks they are super tasty
-loves his binkie, but still has a hard time keeping it in
-hates being held facing out (seriously what baby doesn't like to be held facing out)
Here are some pics:
His first smile on camera...melt my heart!

I am seriously loving all his smiles and chats.  Addie was never this smiley at his age and always was so serious so I am just eating up all his smiles!
 First parade
Checking out his new activity gym

Despite our struggles with him eating and being a crummy sleeper, we are loving every second with our little guy.
