8 Months

Logan is now eight months old and growing like crazy.  This past month he has realized how much he loves food and is becoming less interested in his bottle and more interested in baby food and some table food.  I am always so afraid of feeding him anything, for fear of him choking, but with Addie not getting her first tooth til 14 months I know Logan will probably follow a similar pattern and so he just needs to start gumming food now!  He is a champ at eating.  I was worried that once I introduced fruits to him, he would refuse veggies, but he still loves to eat them.  He loves green beans, squash, sweet potatoes, carrots, apples, pears, peaches, bananas, and has recently started enjoying yogurt and little pieces of bread.  He is working on his pincer grasp and has started to get the hang of feeding himself little puffs and loves them!  He is currently wearing a wide range of clothing sizes.  He still wears some six months things, has mostly nine months, but it now moving on to some twelve month stuff.  He is getting so big!  This past month Logan started having physical therapy once a month through early intervention.  We were starting to get a little worried about his lack of interest/motivation to get moving and sitting up, etc.  He is a really happy, easy baby, but he still isn't a solid sitter, refuses to roll (except from is belly to back), will not (no matter what) bear weight on his legs when you try to stand him up, and just generally prefers to be laying down to anything else.  Seriously, if you lay him down he doesn't move, he wakes up in the morning in the exact same spot I laid him down at.  I know I shouldn't be complaining because a non-mobile baby is so much easier, but as a mom I just start to worry when he isn't hitting his milestones.  As of right now he really isn't behind and didn't technically qualify for services through early intervention, but they were able to put us in the program anyway.  The physical therapist comes once a month and gets Logan all worked up doing things he doesn't want to do!  But really it us more for me to learn how I can work with him.  Everyone tells me that Logan is just really laid back and one day he will just decide he is ready to start doing things and that is probably true!  He has improved a ton this past month though and is sitting pretty well , but I still have to be right by him.  He rolls over to his side and could easily roll all the way over, he just doesn't want to.  Also I know that he is capable of bearing weight because he jumps and stands in his jumper non-stop when he is in there.  I think he just has the mentality of "why stand when someone can just hold me up".  Silly boy!
Logan met Santa for his first time and in case you can't tell from the picture, he loved it!  His little face kills me!
Fascinated with all the Christmas lights this past month
 Getting better at sitting up

At Texas Roadhouse sitting in a restaurant high chair for the first time
I love this close up of his baby blues
 Just munching on a banana
Log's two favorite things in the world: Addie and his binky
My typical happy go lucky sweet boy
Thought the cellophane wrap from a neighbor gift was the most fun thing ever!

We sure do love this little man.  Everyone told me there is something special between a mommy and her baby boy and there totally is.  I just can't get enough of him!

7 Months and Thanksgiving

Well Logan will be eight months tomorrow and I am just now writing his 7 month post.  Not to mention I never blogged about our Thanksgiving.  But since it was one day after Logan's 7 month birthday I figure I can combine the two.  All of the 7 month stuff is blurring with 8 months so this post will be short and sweet since I can't remember a whole lot!
Likes: jumping in his jumper
eating, he is a great eater and loves all fruits and veggies I give him
smiling if he gets any attention at all
watching his big sis
wearing 9 month size clothes
rolling from his belly to back and staying on his back
sitting in his bumbo
playing in his floor gym
playing patty cakes and reading books

Because Logan has been slow to sit up, this was his first time sitting in the stroller without his carseat where he didn't freak out immediately, although he was kind of slouched the whole walk!  He sure enjoyed the better view though.
This boy finally has the hang of solids and absolutely loves to eat.

Dislikes: rolling,
naps (okay he doesn't dislike naps he just still doesn't take long naps, his morning nap is like 20-30 minutes and his afternoon nap is an hour and a half on a good day.  He then needs a cat nap in the evening since he didn't sleep enough during the day!
being sick, duh!  He developed bronchiolitis and had to have a breathing treatment done at the doctors office, luckily it wasn't very serious and he was back to his regular happy self within a couple of days.
tummy time
standing (he refuses to bare weight on his legs and just goes limp)
getting dressed.  The grumpiest this boy gets is after his morning bath when I am getting his clothes on.  He absolutely hates it.
snuggling

There hasn't been a whole lot that went on with Logan this month.  He just still continues to be the most chill, easy going baby EVER!
He did get to experience his very first Thanksgiving and that was fun.  Except for the part that Nephi got the stomach flu and was vomiting all day Thanksgiving...not so fun.  Seriously, he never gets sick and then he ends up with the stomach flu on the biggest day of the year for food!  I felt so bad that we all got to have Thanksgiving dinner and he had to stay home all day puking his guts out!  Other than that I had a great day over at my Mom's visiting with family and eating some delicious grub!  Due to the fact that I was wrestling my two kids all day I didn't take a single picture...go me!  That night after I made sure that my kiddos were fast asleep and Nephi was keeping food down, I headed out to do some black Friday shopping at Carter's.  Yeah I decided to forego the big box stores for sweet deals on electronics and such for clothes for my kids...oh the life of a mom.  I sure do love good deals on kids clothes though! Well here's to hoping I get Logan's 8 month update done in the next few day!

Half Birthday

Well my baby boy is growing up on me and halfway, well more than halfway now, to the big one year!  These past six months have flown by and lately I have found myself a little sad about how fast Logan is growing up.  I am not one of those moms who usually has a hard time with them moving onto the next stage, in fact I always seem to want them to get to the next stage and find each stage to be better and better, but with Logan I feel like he was never my baby.  He has never liked to be held or cuddled and I feel like I was just in survival mode with the adjustment to two kids for so long that I missed out on enjoying him as a little baby.  Nonetheless, he is growing up on me and turning into such a sweet, happy, fun-loving boy.  Did I mention he is one big boy.  His stats at six months were:
Weight: 18 lbs 13 oz. about 85%
Height: 26 inches about 30%
Head: 18 inches about 90%
Logan seriously has the build of a football player, he is getting so heavy to hold and doesn't help much so he is pretty much dead weight.  He is following in his sisters footsteps with being at the top of the charts for weight and the bottom for height, go figure!  Oh, and his head is almost the size of Addie's!
 His beautiful blue eyes
My sleepy baby, he doesn't like to cuddle with me but he sure likes to with his Aden and Anais blankies!
Happy in his bumbo, for a minute at least!
He gave his jumper a go this past month and has really started to go crazy.  I love seeing him discover the different toys to play with on it and jump around with a huge grin on his face!
Sunday best, such a handsome boy

Dressed up as a pirate for his first Halloween
 Kicking it old school

Logan is seriously the most laid back baby.  He still doesn't move much and seems totally content to just sit back and observe.  I have let myself worry a little bit about the fact that he doesn't really roll (other than from his belly to back because he still hates his tummy time) or show much of an interest in standing or sitting up, but I am just trying to let Logan do things on his own time table and enjoy the fact that he isn't going anywhere fast.  He has such a sweet, easy going disposition and I just love him so much. He is enjoying his oatmeal cereal and veggies.  I have been holding off on fruit until I know he likes the veggies.  His favorite is still sweet potatoes hands down.  He is still a great sleeper at night and usually sleeps from about 9:00 pm to 8:00 am, or at least he did until that darn daylight savings decided to throw everything off.  Seriously, ever since I had Addie I dread daylight savings, with kids you don't get to enjoy the extra hour of sleep, instead they are up and ready to go an hour earlier...ugh! This past month Logan has taken a lot more of an interest in trying to grab things, especially paper and put it into his mouth.  He pretty much has to have something in there at all times.  He is at such a fun age right now, he is so smiley and interested in everything, but he still stays put...for now!
Happy half birthday Logan, we sure love you!

Fall Fun

We have had so much fun this fall.  Addie is at such a fun age and gets so into every holiday.  This might have been my favorite Halloween to date!  Addie has been borderline obsessed with pumpkins and all things Halloween from the first decoration she saw.  I think I heard the phrases "mama I see a pumpkin" or "mama I see a witch" or "mama I see a ghost" etc. about a million times throughout the month of October.  She loves to point everything out as we drive by and won't stop repeating herself until you acknowledge that you heard that she did in fact see a pumpkin!  I love how easily excited she gets about everything.  Here is what we were up to the past month or so.
We took Addie to pick some baby pumpkins at the grocery store to hold her off until we went to the pumpkin patch.  You would have thought it was Christmas morning she was so happy with her pumpkins!
Her brothers toys are always more fun!
Logan being his typical silly, happy self.
We visited my friend Kelly and her baby girl Kendall.  We headed to Gardner village and Addie loved all the witches.
Family hay ride with our friends Paul, Stephanie, and Easton to the pumpkin patch to pick our perfect pumpkins!

Riding the cow train with my girl.  Yes I realize I have crazy eyes in this pictures but Addie was so excited!
Nephi and I were able to go to a preseason Jazz game for free thanks to the pass of all passes and we got lower bowl too!  It is was way sweet but I shouldn't get use to such great seats!
 Addie's pumpkin pancake.
 Making sugar cookies...
and decorating sugar cookies, but of course it was much more fun to eat the frosting!
The Syracuse pumpkin walk has nothing on the Logan one, but it was free and still a lot of fun to see all the carved pumpkins lit up.

We are lame and didn't carve pumpkins this year, but I did let Addie paint her pumpkin and she had a blast  painting every color on one side of the pumpkin!
My baby boy went and turned six months on me in October.  I had to get a picture of him in his Sunday best and his favorite thing is to stick his tongue out.
Halloween was much anticipated this year.  We kind of explained to Addie what Halloween was and that she got to dress up and get candy and she pretty much asked us every day, multiple times a day if she could "go to Halloween and get candy"!  We were relieved when the day finally came so she would stop asking and it was everything Addie could have hoped for.

We went with our friends Kelsey, Molly and Laney to the Living Planet Aquarium and the girls had so much fun running around with each other.

Then we headed to mom's work to trick or treat!

Addie figured out trick or treating after like her first stop!  The second she got a piece of candy and said thank you she would say "I need to get some more candy" every single time.  Her little pumpkin bag finally got so heavy she asked my mom to hold it for her.  She left with all kinds of candy and other little things and  we still had trick or treating to do that night!
Needless to say Halloween was a success.  Addie got more candy than any 2 year old should ever have, which means I ate way more candy than I should have!  Now she isn't asking to "go to Halloween" anymore instead she just tells me Halloween is over.  I am holding off explaining Christmas just yet!
Happy Halloween from our princess and pirate!
