Thanksgiving 2013

Addie loved learning about the history behind Thanksgiving this year.  One day she came home with an Indian necklace and feather headband and she probably wore those things for a solid week.
  Pretending to be an Indian
Addie's preschool had a Thanksgiving Feast that I got to attend too.  They had kid friendly food, lots of crafts and activities, and did a little program with a couple of songs at the end.  It was so cute and Addie had a blast.  I think her favorite part was making the Indian vest, which she added to her collection of Indian dress-ups from the pics above.

The day before Thanksgiving we went and saw the movie Frozen.  We had both been waiting forever to see this movie and it did not disappoint.  I tried to get a pic of us in the theater but the light on my phone was just too bright!  I thought this was still a cute/funny pic of Addie blocking the flash.  We loved, loved, loved the movie and have already seen it twice and that's saying something, because I rarely spend money on movies a first time, let alone a second.  We have every song memorized from the soundtrack.  I love the music!
As far as Thanksgiving day goes, I don't have one picture to prove we celebrated, I know, lame.  We sure did enjoy our day though.  Nephi went with my dad and brothers to golf for free at Oakridge Country Club. Apparently golfing at a country club is worth freezing your fanny off. We had dinner with Nephi's family this year, delicious food and good company.  They live conveniently close to both Old Navy and Carter's, so I sent Nephi home with the kids and stayed to do some Black Friday shopping.  I love scoring a good deal on cute kids clothes. It was another great Thanksgiving.
Up next Christmas. I am slowly but surely catching up!

Halloween Time

Halloween was a blast this year.  Addie was so into everything about it.
I found these way cute pumpkin stick ins so the kids each got to do one.

Mr. and Mrs. Potato Head, Addie was just excited hers was a princess.
We went to my mom's ward Halloween party and Addie had a lot of fun playing all the little games.  She wasn't super fond of trying to eat a doughnut of of a string and was much happier when she grabbed it and took a bite!
Addie's initial costume was Rapunzel, mainly because I wanted her to use the wig we had. However, the wig was a little too itchy for her practically bald head and she ditched it before the party even started.
Addie has been loving dance and Logan loves having free reign on the iPad while we hang out in the parking lot waiting for her!

We carved our first pumpkin this year.  I haven't carved a pumpkin since I was a kid so we stuck with something super simple.  Addie and Logan thought it was the greatest thing ever!

Don't worry, we finally painted my hideous dark brown wall. These pictures make me cringe a little.  So glad it is gone after two years of living in darkness!
Finished product
On Halloween day we ditched the Rapunzel costume for Sofia the First and got free pumpkin pancakes at IHOP.

Then we dropped Addie off at preschool for her Halloween party.  She was so excited!

We attended our wards trunk or treat for the first time and the kids had fun going around the big circle and getting candy so easily.  I pulled Logan in the wagon and he kept getting candy thrown towards him.  Each time he got a piece his mouth would drop wide open in awe.  It was the cutest thing ever.

Our day was super packed. After the trunk' r 'treat we went trick or treating in my parents neighborhood.  We were all pretty wiped out by the end of the night and had enough candy to last til next year!

Fun in Fall

I have resigned to the fact that I will never be caught up on this blog.  But at least I am committed to getting everything on here eventually...right?! With that being said let's go back to fall!

Playing in the leaves was one of the kids favorite things to do.  Addie spent a whole afternoon raking and jumping in the piles at Grandma's.

We went to the fire station open house and the kids loved taking a ride in the fire truck.  Addie also got to use their water hose to put out a fake fire.  She looks good on a motorcycle too!
This little munchkin started crawling in October and has been into everything and I love it!  He can get into anything he wants I am just so happy he is crawling.  Now if he would just give in and start walking!

He must have fallen asleep sitting up
We had fun going with our friends to the Dinosaur Museum

Squeezed in as many park days as we could

Went to the pumpkin patch with friends

I got to go with Addie on her first field trip to Black Island Farms
And then we made our annual, and overpriced, trip to Black Island Farms as a family
Despite Logan's stoned look, he loved the tractor ride out to get our pumpkins

Addie conquered another fear of going on the hay bale slides
And Logan insisted I take him a few times

Stay tuned for Halloween!
