Addie's Nursery

I am finally getting around to posting pics of the baby room. I am pretty happy with the outcome considering we can't paint and we have to have our computer and desk in there as well. Luckily it is a decent size room and Addie won't mind sharing her room for the time being!

I turned this picture board into Addie's hair accessory holder. It matched the colors of her room perfectly and I can't wait to try out all the flowers and bows!

24th of July and Visitors

My fam came up to Logan on the 24th and we had a blast. I was a little bummed that we weren't going to be able to go to all of the festivities and fireworks this year with the little one in tow so it was nice to have the fam come up instead. We missed Kevies, he couldn't make it. We had a yummy bbq and we did end up going out to the festivities for a little bit. I always love going to the booths and we especially enjoyed the homemade cowboy hat booth as you can see! I also got some yummy sub zero ice cream!

I didn't get any other pics but we sure enjoyed having everyone over and Addie did great going out, she just slept in her stroller the whole time!

We have loved having visitors come and meet Addie.

Shelley and Addie
Phi with his friend Jaron and his little boy Jace. He is just six weeks older than Addie, I am sure they will be great friends!
Crystal came up with Brenda and her kids. We went to lunch, played some wii and checked out a new outdoor splash park in Providence. It was fun to watch all the kids go crazy in the fountains I can't wait until Addie is old enough to play in the water.

Can you tell she loved the fountains
I didn't get pics of all our visitors but we sure appreciate everyone who stopped by and can't wait to see many more of you!

Making Her Debut

Addison Cherie Scott

Our sweet baby Addie is finally here! On Friday night around 10:30 pm I was watching the news and suddenly had a horrible pain and there was no mistaking it for false, it was the real thing. Five minutes later I had another horrible contraction and then another five minutes after that. Then my water broke...that was quite the experience. I couldn't believe how quick I was suddenly in labor, I always thought it would be a long process of timing contractions and wondering if it really was time to go to the hospital etc. but we knew it was time to go. We got to the hospital at about 10:45 pm and I was dilated to a 5 plus. I begged for the epidural immediately...so grateful for modern medicine! About 2 hours later I was dilated to a 10 (again wasn't expecting it to go so quickly), did an hour of rest and descend, and about 45 minutes of pushing and she was here. My labor was only four hours I was seriously overwhelmed at how quickly the whole thing went, but I didn't mind one bit. I made the mistake of thinking I could handle having them put her directly on me after she came out, but me having the weak stomach that I do, suddenly felt like I was going to throw up and had them immediately move the baby right before I threw up like four times, luckily it didn't get on her! They cleaned her off and Nephi held her for a long time because I had horrible labor shakes that I could not control...not fun. Finally I was able to cuddle my beautiful baby...she is just perfect!
She came out sunny side up and had a huge cone head, luckily it went away quickly

Aunt Crystal, we gave Addie her middle name

Uncle Kev
Nice and snug. She insists on being swaddled at all times and lets you know it! Seriously this girl comes out of her swaddle for any reason and she screams...can you say drama queen!
Going Home

First (sponge) bath and she absolutely hated it until we wrapped her up and washed her hair in the sink

She loved being snuggled after her bath
Love this pic
Addie and her cousin Jace. He is almost 3 months it is crazy to see the difference in size

My amazing mom came and stayed with us for two days to help teach me how to be a mom, she just has that touch
Tim and Jace stopped by for a visit

Addie had to go on the bili lights for her jaundice. I bawled like a baby when they told me she had to be on there 24/7 except feeding and diapering. It has been really hard not being able to hold her whenever we want, but hopefully this will be the last day she is on it.
She is such a great baby and we have loved every second of the time we have had with her. She is already such a joy in our lives and we are so grateful for her and the spirit she brings into our home.

July So Far

Well I am down to my last week of being pregnant...fingers crossed! I am so ready for her to be here, somehow I keep getting more and more uncomfortable, i have hit the point where it feels like i will be pregnant forever, seriously the last two weeks seem as long as the full 9 months! We have been trying to stay busy and have fun in July. We went down to my parents house on the 2nd for Crystal's 20th birthday. We celebrated at Texas Roadhouse with the fam and got to give her a big "yeehaw" while on the saddle for all to see! Then we had cake and ice cream back at my parents place. Saturday I ventured out to participate in the usual Kaysville 4th celebrations. The parade was not as enjoyable as in years past to say the least. I was having tons of contractions and back pain. My mom asked the people next to us if I could sit under their canopy, i love how when you are pregnant you don't care how silly you feel you will do just about anything to be comfortable including joining another family's party! It didn't help that the parade was like an hour longer than in years past, but it was still a lot of fun. I spent the rest of the day on the couch in pain but managed to make it to the fireworks. Kaysville never disappoints! Sunday the 4th Tim and Jessica blessed Jace at my parents ward. Tim did a great job, but again I was in so much pain that I couldn't stay in sacrament past the blessing. I sat in the foyer for a while then I went home and slept while everyone came over for a luncheon, lame I know! Needless to say after the weekend I was ready to be home. I thought for sure with all the contractions and discomforts that labor was coming but of course this whole week I have felt much better...go figure!

Crystal came to visit this past Friday on her way to Bear Lake. We went to the sidewalk sale in downtown Logan, got ice cream and went to the zoo when Phi got home from work. The zoo isn't much of a zoo, so we were thrilled to see a peacock with his wings fully spread. I had never seen anything like it. The wing span was huge and so pretty. Definitely made the trip to the zoo worthwhile.

Front View-the pic doesn't do the colors and size justice!
Saturday night we went to the demolition derby. I was very hesistant in going because I thought I wouldn't be able to sit on those bleachers that whole time, but somehow I managed. Demo Derby's are one of our favorite things to do in the summer so I just sucked it up and sat through it. Unfortunately there were no fires or flip overs but it was still very entertaining, especially the people watching.
We have enjoyed the first half of July but are anxiously awaiting the second half even more. I am just praying she comes by her due date...i don't have the patience to endure past then...which means she will probably go over knowing my luck. Oh, well she will come when it is her time.
