Light at the end of the Tunnel

The sun was out yesterday and I took Addie to the park!  It must mean that warmer, sunnier days are to come...even if it is suppose to snow tomorrow!  Addie loves the park and especially the baby swing, she might have thrown a minor fit when I got her out!

 Love this cheese grin
She loves the slides and sitting at the bottom banging on them and sliding her feet around!

Here's to sunnier days that don't require a jacket!

Easter 2011

Addie's first Easter was a success!  At the end of her easter egg trail was her first easter basket.  She loved pulling all her goodies out of her basket.

Addie and all her loot!  She got some new bath toys, snacks, a sippy cup, and a cute book. She also got some candy that she decided to share with us!  She also got spoiled by her grandparents too!
She knows what the good stuff is
Eating her first wagon...she loved it!
Phi made me some yummy breakfast and then we were off to church, which was AMAZING!  We went to my parents for dinner and our annual easter egg hunt.
Jace all ready for the easter egg hunt

Addie officially loves eggs, especially when they are full and she can shake up a storm

I just love Addie's Easter dress, she is so dang cute!
Hope you all had a "hoppy" Easter!

Stats

Addie had her 9 month check-up today and she is doing great!  I was pleasantly surprised to find out she didn't need shots today...phew!  Here are her stats:
weight: 19lbs 1oz-54%
height: 26.89in-27%
head: 44.60cm-68%

Her weight gain has seriously slowed down.  At her six month appointment she was in the 91% for weight.  I guess all her rolling and playing is doing something!  I can only imagine how much she will thin out once she starts crawling, so sad.

{nine}

I seriously cannot believe that Addie has been out of me as long as she was in me!  I must say these past nine months of Adds life have gone by much faster than the nine months I was pregnant with her...not fair!

Addie has been up to a lot this month and had a lot of firsts:

-first time going to California
-first time going to the beach
-first time riding on a bike
-first time on a plane
-first time sleeping in a hotel
-first time touching the ocean
-first time being in the car for longer than an hour
-first time drinking out of a sippy cup
-first time rolling from her back to her stomach (finally, if you were to have asked me two weeks ago if Addie would be crawling anytime soon I would have said no, but all of a sudden she likes being on her stomach and is trying to get herself moving.  I think she will be crawling soon.  Her Buddha belly is just a little bit tough to get off the ground!)
-first ear infection
-first time standing by herself
-first time going to the park (she loved the baby swing)
-first time saying "mama" although she only says it when she is mad...go figure!
-first time playing with a dog
-and many other firsts

Cruisin at the beach

Standing all by herself
She loves to pull herself up on this toy, she does it over and over again

Playing on the hotel bed

At nine months Addie loves:
standing
swings
feeding herself
walks
rolling all over
books (she could read books all day, she is always happy with books around)
all things technology

signing time (but she claps for each sign!)
when daddy comes home from work
jewelry
paper
head shoulders knees and toes, i'm a little teapot, patty cakes, etc.
to eat (currently loving yogurt, cheese, bananas, toast, juice, puff snacks, pears and peaches)
dancing when she hears music
waving bye-bye...sometimes
being tickled
clapping (she makes a fist with one hand and punches it into her other open hand, see pic below.  She is obsessed with clapping it is so fun to see her get so excited about things)

playing in baskets

Dislikes:
getting in her carseat
getting dressed
having her face wiped
taking long naps (her two naps can hardly be called naps, they are so short these days)
sleeping in (she use to sleep until 8 or 8:30, now I am lucky if she sleeps til 7...not cool)
 being left alone
strangers
the vacuum, mixer, blender, or any other loud machine
wearing headbands
wearing shoes (Addie thinks of shoes as foreign objects because hasn't really worn them.  I have said it before, but this little one has the tiniest feet ever and no shoes fit.  I put shoes on her for some pictures today and Addie pulled on them the whole time.  Of course they came off easily because they were too big!

These shoes are size 0-3 months...seriously!

ear infections...obviously (she had her first ear infection a few weeks ago and it was so sad, thank goodness for antibiotics)
This was the day she had her ear infection.  She looked so sad and miserable the whole day.  I have experienced my first sick child and I don't like it!  Nothing is worse than not being able to do anything for your miserable baby.  So glad she is back to her happy self!

It is hard to believe we will be celebrating her first birthday in a few months.  We sure do love our toothless, tiny-footed munchkin!

Addie goes to California

Addie and I went with my parents to Southern California for a family friend's mission farewell.  I was itching for a getaway and wish that Nephi could have come with, but me and Addie sure had a blast with my parents!  We left last Thursday and stayed the night in St. George.  My dad had enough points to get two suites, so Addie and I had a huge jacuzzi suite for just the two of us, Phi missed out!
Addie looked tiny on this giant king size bed.

Addie spent a lot of time in her car seat and did so amazing.  I was super stressed about how she would do in the car cuz she had never been further than an hour from home and she exceeded all expectations.  It probably helped that she had me in the back seat to keep her company!

The weather wasn't super great for the first couple of days (but apparently it was a lot better than what was going on back home) but I was determined to take Addie to the beach.  When I saw the beach cruiser with an infant seat for rent I could not resist.  Addie and I took a nice long ride along the beach and she had a ball!  I am so glad I decided to take her on a ride, it was so much fun!

I put Addie's feet in the ocean and in the sand...she wasn't a fan!

She refused to put her feet down in the sand!

I also was determined to make it to an H & M while we were there and the one we went to had baby clothes.  Who knew H & M had baby clothes.  Of course I got Addie a couple of things!

The Charleson's, who we stayed with, have this adorable dog named Abbie, yeah that was a little confusing all weekend!  Abbie was obsessed with Addie and couldn't get enough of her or her things.  She even got Addie's binkie in her mouth...disgusting!  Addie was pretty entertained by her as well.  It was so cute to see them together.

Abbie kept wanting to lick Addie's ears and Addie wasn't sure how she felt about it

Addie looked so stinkin cute in her church outfit and was being super funny at the luncheon afterward while everyone sat around and watched her, I couldn't resist snapping some pics of her.  This was the first time in a LONG time she kept her headband on all through church

Addie and grandma by the pool, too bad it was too cold to swim.  I was hoping to break out Addie's new swimsuit!

My dad stayed in Cali to work and my mom, Addie, and I flew home on Monday.  Again, my worrying little self was stressed about flying with a baby, and once again Addie blew me away with how well she did.  We had two flights, she played in my lap the first flight and slept in her car seat the whole second flight.  Can you say angel baby!?  We had so much fun and I was so grateful for all the help I received from fam/friends.  I was definitely grateful to get back home to Phi and a schedule.  Hopefully we can get out there again and Nephi can come next time.
