5 Years and Memorial Day Weekend

We started out our long weekend by celebrating our 5 year anniversary.  FIVE years how on earth can that be?!  It is crazy that we have been married that long.  If you had asked me five years ago how we would be celebrating our five year anniversary, it would have been something a little bit more cool than a quick dinner out.  But that quick dinner out what due to having a new baby who needs his mama so I just can't complain.  Our two kiddos are our greatest accomplishment over these past 5 years and we are so lucky to have them.  We decided to do a first together, going to the Cheesecake Factory.  Somehow neither of us have been before and now that they one downtown we just had to try it out.  We had a lot of fun just the two of us and I am so lucky to have found Nephi.

The rumors about huge portions was true!
 My Sweetheart
Finishing off the evening with a peanut butter fudge ripple cheesecake...divine!
I didn't realize how awesome it would be to get married on Memorial day weekend because we always seem to have an extra long weekend to celebrate!
On Saturday we attempted to go to the Hill AFB air show and even made it onto base before the downpour of rain...dumb weather.  We decided it probably wouldn't be best to take our little out in the weather so we went to lunch instead and luckily the weather held cleared up that evening so we could go to the bees game with my fam!

Monday we had a bbq with Nephi's family and then got together with my family that evening.  It was a great weekend and I can't wait to see what the next 5 years brings!

One Month Down

Well we have survived our first month with two kiddos under 2.  I would be lying if I said it was easier than I thought it would be to have two kids so close in age, in fact it is just as hard if not harder than I thought it would be.  However, Logan is totally worth it and I know it will be great having them so close in age when they are a little bit older.  This past month has flown by.  You forget all the work that goes into having a newborn and I am definitely looking forward to him sleeping longer at night.  He is pretty much a 3 hour eater around the clock and he is a terrible nurser, so I feel like all I am ever doing is feeding him.  It is hard not to compare him to Addie, who was sleeping 5-6 hours at night at this age and sleeping through the night by 7 weeks, but each baby is different and I am trying to just enjoy the short time he is so little.  Here is a peek into our life the past month with our sweet little man.
Getting happier with bath time
His classic pose, the stare down
Rarely has his hands exposed because he scratches up his face every time
This little chick has spent way too much time watching all her shows since we've been cooped up at home
Spending lots of time in his car seat.  He sleeps great in it, but wakes up the second the car slows or stops.  He is quite the stinker when it comes to sleeping during the day.  He has an agenda to not sleep and fights it all day long...grrr.
Gotta love all the newborn expressions!
There is just something about a sleeping baby

He loves his binky but has a hard time keeping it in and gets so mad when it falls out
 My little snuggle buddy
 Hates tummy time
Big sis helping with tummy time!  She is so good with him and loves him to pieces
Don't you just want to eat him up!
So lucky to be mama to my littles!

Introducing

Logan Michael Scott
4/21/12
8lbs 2oz
19.5in
4:40am
Our sweet Logan is finally here!  He decided to come a week and a half early, which I was just fine with!  I had a doctor's appointment earlier that day and hadn't had any progress from the week before, still dilated to a 3 and 70% so I went home planning on going in on 4/24 to be induced.  Well I woke up around 1:30 Saturday morning to my water breaking...again!  My water broke with Addie too.  We rushed to the hospital, got checked in and I barely had time for an epidural.  My epidural worked way better this time around than with Addie and I didn't feel much of anything.  Logan was born only 3 hours after my water broke, an hour faster than with Addie.  I was grateful for a quick and easy labor with no complications.  However, I am pretty sure if I ever have another kid, I will have to book it to the hospital with how fast my babies come.  We are so in love with our little man.

Best attempt at a family photo.  Nephi couldn't fit on the bed due to my post-epidural numbness and not being able to scoot over and Addie was more excited about the graham crackers I had than anything else!

 Proud daddy

Addie loves to love him
