I seriously cannot believe that Addie has been out of me as long as she was in me! I must say these past nine months of Adds life have gone by much faster than the nine months I was pregnant with her...not fair!
Addie has been up to a lot this month and had a lot of firsts:
-first time going to California
-first time going to the beach
-first time riding on a bike
-first time on a plane
-first time sleeping in a hotel
-first time touching the ocean
-first time being in the car for longer than an hour
-first time drinking out of a sippy cup
-first time rolling from her back to her stomach (finally, if you were to have asked me two weeks ago if Addie would be crawling anytime soon I would have said no, but all of a sudden she likes being on her stomach and is trying to get herself moving. I think she will be crawling soon. Her Buddha belly is just a little bit tough to get off the ground!)
-first ear infection
-first time standing by herself
-first time going to the park (she loved the baby swing)
-first time saying "mama" although she only says it when she is mad...go figure!
-first time playing with a dog
-and many other firsts
Cruisin at the beach
Standing all by herself
She loves to pull herself up on this toy, she does it over and over again
Playing on the hotel bed
At nine months Addie loves:
standing
swings
feeding herself
walks
rolling all over
books (she could read books all day, she is always happy with books around)
signing time (but she claps for each sign!)
when daddy comes home from work
jewelry
paper
head shoulders knees and toes, i'm a little teapot, patty cakes, etc.
to eat (currently loving yogurt, cheese, bananas, toast, juice, puff snacks, pears and peaches)
dancing when she hears music
waving bye-bye...sometimes
being tickled
clapping (she makes a fist with one hand and punches it into her other open hand, see pic below. She is obsessed with clapping it is so fun to see her get so excited about things)
Dislikes:
getting in her carseat
getting dressed
having her face wiped
taking long naps (her two naps can hardly be called naps, they are so short these days)
sleeping in (she use to sleep until 8 or 8:30, now I am lucky if she sleeps til 7...not cool)
being left alone
strangers
the vacuum, mixer, blender, or any other loud machine
wearing headbands
wearing shoes (Addie thinks of shoes as foreign objects because hasn't really worn them. I have said it before, but this little one has the tiniest feet ever and no shoes fit. I put shoes on her for some pictures today and Addie pulled on them the whole time. Of course they came off easily because they were too big!
These shoes are size 0-3 months...seriously!
ear infections...obviously (she had her first ear infection a few weeks ago and it was so sad, thank goodness for antibiotics)
This was the day she had her ear infection. She looked so sad and miserable the whole day. I have experienced my first sick child and I don't like it! Nothing is worse than not being able to do anything for your miserable baby. So glad she is back to her happy self!
It is hard to believe we will be celebrating her first birthday in a few months. We sure do love our toothless, tiny-footed munchkin!
