9 Months Already

Logan seems to have gotten so much older this month.  He has learned quite a few things this month.  He is finally starting to decide he doesn't like to be stuck where I lay him and is so close to rolling from his back to his belly, but he still isn't quite doing it.  He is sitting a lot better and has decided he does like to stand and thinks it is hilarious when he does it.  He had his first real therapy session last month and it went really well.  Of course he hated every minute of it, but it is helping him get stronger and teaching me what to work on with him.  He got a music table for Christmas and likes to stand up to it and play, but I still have to be right there forcing him to stay up.  This little boy of mine is definitely teaching me patience and that I need to let him do things on his own time table.  It can be hard to not compare your kids to each other and especially to other kids who seem to be so far ahead of mine, but I know that is just the nature of Logan and he is really chill.  I can't complain he is still in the easy stage with no mobility.
He is such a big boy, I know that contributes to him having a hard time moving and wanting to stand, sit etc.  It is a lot of work for him.  His head is so big, full of lots of smarts I guess!  He is now in size 4 diapers, same size as Addie and should really only be wearing 12 month clothes, but I still try to squeeze him in to some 9 months occasionally.  He is still beyond in love with his jumparoo and spends quite a bit of time in it.  He loves his baths and still hates getting dressed.  Literally tears every time!  He is such a good eater and wants everything we are eating.  I can't get him to take his bottle real great, but give him cheese, pasta, bread, yogurt, bananas, peaches, rice, eggs, or his baby snacks and he will eat his heart out.  He still spends the majority of his day smiling and it is usually because he is watching Addie.  He absolutely adores her and is always cracking up at her silly antics. He loves to feed himself and hold his bottle, when he is in the mood.  We have been working on sippy cups and he has no idea what to do, I am getting worried it will be harder to get him off the bottle than Addie, at least she could use a straw.  He now gives high 5's and waves and we are working on clapping.  He is always smiling and very easy to get to laugh, he is so ticklish!  His 9 months stats are:
Height: 28 inches-25%
Weight 21 lbs 5 oz-70%
Head 18.7 inches-95%
His head is ginormous so I guess I should give him a break, it is a lot of work moving his chubby self around!
This is what happens when I get distracted by Addie while feeding him.  He takes matters into his own hands.

Decided to start holding his bottle
 Working on feeding himself

Logan is obsessed with watching the Ipad or any TV for that matter.  Addie gets so mad when his grabby fingers throw something off!

Working on using a sippy cup, he can't seem to figure it out or a straw either.

First time riding on a train.  Logan was absolutely mesmerized the whole time.

Merry Christmas 2012

I am only a month late in posting this, but I have been having some serious issues with blogger on my computer.  I am hoping I have figured out the bugs and we can continue to have a good relationship!
As I always say, each Christmas gets better and better as Addie gets older.  Having Logan with us this year made it pretty great too!  This Christmas did not disappoint.  We are lucky to be able to see both of our families and it works out great every year to spend Christmas Eve with Nephi's family and Christmas day with mine.  On Christmas Eve we broke our usual tradition of a prime rib dinner at the Scott's and went to Texas Roadhouse for our dinner.  It was definitely different to be celebrating Christmas Eve at a steakhouse, but it ended up being a lot of fun and of the course the food was delicious!  The best part, especially for Nephi's mom, was no clean-up, a Christmas gift in itself!  After dinner we headed back to their house and had treats and opened presents.  Addie was spoiled rotten and I began to question taking some things back I had gotten her!  Her big gift from her Nana and Papa was the little people Disney princess castle, which was a big hit!  The best part was I didn't have to assemble it.  The kiddos opened up their Christmas jammies and then we headed home.  I couldn't find my phone that night and so the only pics we got were on Nephi's phone and I haven't gotten them from him yet, but it was a great night.
I love living close enough to our families to be able to have Christmas morning at our house with our little fam before getting together with everyone.  It was just perfect.
Santa came
Getting her first look...she was in total awe!

Opening presents.  Addie loved the unwrapping part more than anything and couldn't wait to move on to the next present after she opened each one.

Showing me her Maximus horse while chewing some candy from her stocking

Her pillow racer from Santa was a hit.  She rides that thing all over our hardwood and tile floors.  I like that it is an indoor ride-on so she doesn't have to wait to use it outside!

Using it as a pillow too!  Silly girl!

Opening her baby and stroller from Grandma and Grandpa
Crystal showing her how she sucks on her bottle

I love this picture of Addie in total awe while my mom was pointing out ornaments on her tree!  I just love the relationship that these two have!
This little boy melts my heart.  So glad to have him with us this Christmas!
What a wonderful day we had spending time together and reflecting on the greatest gift of all, the birth of our Savior.  Can't wait until next year!

Christmas Activities

Before I post about Christmas I figured I should document all of the activities we did this past month. Addie had so much fun with all things Christmas related. Each year just gets more and more fun. She totally understood the whole Santa concept and loved pointing him out each time she saw him. We started the "elf on the shelf" tradition and Addie loved it. She named our elf Jingles and thought he was the greatest thing ever. She loved finding him in a new spot each day and would usually shape right up anytime I told her Jingles was watching. He will be a huge help for years to come! We also visited city creek, temple square, zoo lights where the kiddos met Santa, decorated our tree, celebrated Nephi's 28th birthday, checked out Christmas books from the library, made sugar cone Christmas trees, drove around to find homes with Christmas lights with music shows, drove through Layton park and I went with my mom and Crys to see The Forgotten Carols. We did our best to do lots of Christmas activities and start some of our own traditions!

Jingles brought early presents on the Sunday before Christmas with new church outfits!

Our elf also brought some Christmas books one morning (wrapped them himself that clever little elf). They were a big hit with Addie!

Addie was mesmerized by the huge Christmas tree at City Creek and of course the fountain show

We were so excited that the candy windows were back at Macy's this year.  They were pretty cool!

Temple square.  Addie loved throwing money into the reflection pool in front of the temple and saying hi to Jesus.

Zoo lights was a lot of fun, but FREEZING.  Luckily we got to warm up with Santa indoors for a few minutes.  This couple was so cute and both Addie and Logan loved sitting on their laps.

Helped Grandma decorate her tree
Christmas Elves who just happened to be dressed alike

Addie was obsessed with my mom's little Santa

Decorated our tree.  Addie helped and put all the same ornaments on one section of the tree!

Nephi's birthday.  Addie thinks every birthday cake is for her!

Can't believe we never tried static electricity and balloons before.  This entertained Addie for about three days straight!

Thanks to pinterest for the tree decorating idea.  Much easier for Addie than Gingerbread Houses.
