Bring on FALL!!!

Somehow summer came to a close and I never blogged about the end of our summer. Yet another summer has come and gone in which we feel we've wasted because looking back we really didn't do a whole lot. I am still waiting for the summer that we go on some exotic vacation...where is that summer at?! All in all we still had a lot of fun and got to spend a lot of time with eachother. Here are the most recent events that we did these past few weeks:
Every year we go to Peach Days in Brigham City and we really enjoy going. This is us with one of many Peach Days signs just about to go to the Jon Schmidt concert. We love going to Peach Days every year. They have tons of yummy food and tons of cute craft booths. My self control came off conquerer though because I did not buy one thing even though I really really wanted to, other than food of course, a girl needs to eat. If anyone wants to go with us next year you are more than welcome to. We ran into our friends Paul and Stephanie there and had a fun time with them also!
Brigham City night life gets pretty crazy...but seriously I was amazed at how many wackos were at Peach Days this year, I would have to say this was about the best people watching experience I have had and that is saying something!

A couple weekends ago Phi and me went to a demolition derby. These are hands down one of our favorite things to do all summer...seriously! I don't know what it is about demo derby's but they are so fun. Oh wait, I do know it is all the funny people that go to demo derby's and it is all the people cheering on others to injure themselves and cause fires...priceless! This was the last one of the season so they let anything and everything into the arena and there was a lot of action, this time a car even flipped over which was pretty cool!

Some of the action...seriously so much fun!

Finally fall is here and I am so excited for it. One positive (well probably the only positive) thing about commuting through Sardine Canyon every single day is I get to see the leaves change colors literally before my eyes. It is so invigorating to drive through and see such beautiful colors and how quickly they are changing. I have never really seen such huge changes take place before and I love it. Fall is my favorite time of year and it is definitely in the air and I am excited. I am looking forward to a much needed wardrobe change (sweaters, scarves, boots), pumpkin choc chip cookies, soup and bread bowls, the pumpkin walk, corn mazes, carving pumpkins, and candy! I am also looking forward to General Conference this weekend and getting together with my mom and sisters on Priesthood night. I am hoping we can go to Gardner Village and see all the witches...I have never been! Hope everyone else is enjoying fall as much as I am!

the 24th of july...better late than never!

we had a fun 24th of july. we took advantage of a long weekend by going to Pocatello and staying overnight. you might be asking yourself what the heck is in pocatello, well we stayed overnight so we could go to lava hot springs in the morning. that night we swam and hit the exciting town of pocatello. we went and saw my sister's keeper and by saw i mean i bawled my eyes out the entire time, but i loved it. we also went to fort hall. if you don't know what fort hall is it is an indian reservation right outside of pocatello and they have a casino there. you only have to be 18 to go there and it is pretty entertaining. i had been there once before a few years back and won about $18, i guess it was beginner's luck because this time i left seven dollars poorer from the penny slots. that's okay though it is not like i was there to gamble we just went for fun and phi went for the free soda and hot choc. the next morning when we came out of our hotel room it was overcast and stormy, which made me very unhappy. we had come all this way and decided to go to lava anyway. when we got there we decided we needed to at least float the river if nothing else. we rented a double tube (biggest mistake ever) and tubed the river. the first time was a blast, we tipped once but still had a good time, the second time we tipped again and nephi lost one of his flip flops so i went after it and couldn't stop so phi came after me and got way torn up from all the rocks so we had to stop it was still a lot of fun but if we did it again we would do single tubes cuz you have a lot more control. we headed back to logan for the annual concert and fireworks. this year they had peter breinholt in concert which we both loved and the fireworks were great also. it was a fun 24th and i am way lame and didn't really get any pics. the next post will have pics i promise!

Long Overdue Post

Well we have been in our new place for over a month so I figured it was time to get posting some pics. We are loving our new place. I love being able to put in a load of laundry whenev I want and not have to plan my whole day around it and I LOVE having a/c it is so nice compared to the swamp cooler we have before. If you want to see more of our place you know where to find us!
The outside of our cute new place...I love it!
Cute little cabinet I put together myself for some additional storage space in the bathroom!
Full bath upstairs, not the greatest pic I know
The master bedroom, it is like twice the size of our other room and you can see the walk in closest which I love. We have a big second bedroom also that we use for an office but right now it is the "random stuff from the move that doesn't have a place yet" room so I didn't think I needed to post the mess!
The half bath downstairs. The people before us left this cute shelf and I was so excited!
My huge kitchen! Off to the left is the pantry/laundry room and further down is the second bathroom
My little table, finally a place of its own.
The kitchen was the thing that sold me on this apartment! It is huge and I love it. I finally have room and then some for a table!
This is our pride and joy! This entertaiment center took us three nights to put together. We opened it up and there were about 300 different pieces and it was quite the process. We were so excited to have it done and it turned out great!

Another shot of our living room. I put up that vinyl quote since I can't paint and I think it turned out really good!

Out with the Old, In with the New!

I have been wanting to post for a long time but we just moved so I have been crazy busy. This past saturday we moved from our first home together where we have been for the first two years of marriage. It was a great first apartment and we made so many wonderful memories, but we were ready for a change and an upgrade. I am in love with my new place. It is so nice and spacious. Here is a list of things I love about my new place:
  • it has w/d hookups...yes we have gone two years without them it sure makes me appreciate them now I actually love doing laundry with my own washer and dryer!
  • the kitchen is huge and if you saw my old kitchen you know how small it was. there wasn't even room for a table it was pushed up against the counter and now my table fits with tons of additional space and there is tons of cabinet storage and a pantry!
  • covered parking for both of us...need i say more?!
  • huge bedrooms with a walk-in closet in the master
  • a/c...however we haven't even needed to turn it on it has been so cool outside i love it!
  • everything is fairly new. our old place was built in the 80's and our new place is only like three years old so it seems brand new compared to what we can from!
  • good blinds...my old blinds were literally made out of metal and would clang together when the window was open it was very irritating!
  • the new ward is AMAZING! at our old place we went to the family ward and while there is nothing wrong with families we never felt like we fit in very well. at our new place we decided to start going to the married student ward and we feel like we are home. everyone is super friendly and we already have tons of fun summer activities to do with the ward
  • a half bath downstairs so when we have people over they don't have to use ours

in case you couldn't tell I am pretty excited about our move! i can't believe how much moving makes you want to buy tons of new stuff and decor for your house i have gone a little bit crazy which isn't exactly the greatest timing considering i STILL don't have a job...yikes! i have two interviews tomorrow wish me luck! anyways we are still putting the house together and probably will be for a while but i will get pics up asap. if you want to see the place for yourself just stop by!

pOsT oVRloAd!!

so i am finally catching up on the events of summer. as i mentioned previously me and phi recently celebrated our two year anniversary. our anniversary fell on memorial day this year which made it fun because we both had the day off from work and we got to celebrate on a long weekend. phi made me a nice breakfast that morning and we kind of bummed around logan running errand and things until dinner. for dinner we made the drive to salt lake to go to my fav restraunt...the melting pot. if you have not been her you must go. it is heaven on earth. the whole meal is fondue minus the salad which is the lamo part of the dinner. it is such a fun place to go and really more of an event than anything. who would have thought cooking food would be entertainment. for those of you who have never been there are four courses: cheese fondue, salad, entree of various meats fondue, and chocolate fondue. can you say a lot of food! the cheese was supurb we had some fiesta blend and it was yummy. then we had the salads and by this point i was getting full so i decided to not waste the remainder of stomach room on the salad. then came the platter of deluctable perfectly cut meats. you can see in the picture below. you just pick your poison and drop it in the pot of incredible broth. it takes like two minutes to cook and never gets overcooked. wow it was amazing. and then of course you have to have the chocolate. just look at the plate of goodies that we dipped into our flaming turtle fondue that was flambeed at our tableside. this place rocks! we had a great anniversary and look forward to many more!
smiling...despite the bill we just got!
the endless choices of meat. seriously there is two kinds of beef, chicken, pork tenderloin, ravioli, lobster, and shrimp with tons of differenct things to dip them in

nephi taking a dip

enjoying my choc covered rice

strawberries, bannanas, brownies, angel food cake, oreo crum covered marshmellows, rice krispies and some cheesecake. you could say i was in heave and that i probably shouldn't eat again for a week!
